Going to Lund again :)

I'm going to Lund next Thursday to visit my friend Silja that lives there now. Me and Johanna will fly out together and then Hulda will also come from Stockholm to meet us :) So it will be 4 biology girls meeting there for the weekend! The plan is to shop, see some sights, maybe go to the beach, but mostly spend some time together! Then the next time me and Silja will meet, we will both have a baby, as Silja is due in October!

well I haven't written here in a while, I just wanted to tell everyone the news personally, not on a blog... Now I think most people know that me and Niels are having a baby :) We found out yesterday that it's a little girl :D
I'm due on the 13th of December and I'm 20 weeks pregnant now, so 20 weeks to go!!
I'm taking an exam in August and then I'll go with my friend Johanna to visit another friend Silja in Lund Sweden :) It will be so great to see the place again and to shop some pink dresses :D

Happy easter everyone!
We just bought a new car! It's gorgeous, grey WW passat 2006 :) AND we are going to New York and Florida in may :D It's an ophthalmologists conference in Florida, and we will stop in NY for a couple of days aswell :) I cant wait!!

Well, i really was gonna be very good and write alot here, but always seem to be too much to do in my life :/
Now i've started on full doing experiments for my Phd, looking at vitreous gel from porcine eyes, very tasteful (well not worse then the cow eyes at least:))
Then I have 2 classes, and I quit working in the wine store :) wow, I was sooo sick of that place, after 4 years.... This January, and in February also, me and Niels are working in Hagkaup 4 nights a week, putting the groceries in the shelfs. Bit much to do, but still, now i have weekends off instead :) Then of course i'll be teaching again (like usual). After February I hope to be able to Focus 100% on the studies (with teaching), and stop to work extra jobs, its toooo much for me. PhD studies are much more hectic than MS....
So I might be going to Florida in May :D its a conference for ophthalmologists, I sent in an abstract in December, and I hope I'll get to go :D that would be sooooo COOL :P
I hope I'll be able to travel more aswell, hope there will be some time and alot of money :D

Graduation

Well i finally graduated with my MS degree last saturday, just had a small reception with the family, it was nice :) We just came home from Portugal and Spain last week, that was a nice trip, just a little to long :P 16 days. The conference in Portugal was ok, whatched presentations about eye diseases all day and then I had my presentation and poster on the last day. I put some pics on my photobucket site, there is a link from the biogirls home page if anyone is interrested :)
Well, i'm starting my experiments in the doctoral, its a bit hard, cause my professor is abroad and i'll be teaching next week. I'll see how much I can do :D

Magister Svana

CANNOT BELIVE THIS :)
I finally finished my masters!! last Tuesday I took the final exam for my master thesis and I got 1st grade :) I will graduate in about 3 weeks, but officially I am Magister of Science now!
1 week from now, me and Níels are going to Portugal on an Eye conference, where i will present my findings in the Master studies, and after that we will go visit my friend Kata, who lives in Madrid, Spain. There we will meet Jóhanna, so it will be the four of us for few days in Madrid :) Then only 3 days after we come home, there will be the graduation! I've started working on my Doctoral now, just starting it really, nothing heavy. I'm taking 2 courses in pharmacology and i'll start som experiments after I come from Portugal and Spain.
I really should and want to write more here, i'll try to remember! :D
I just hopes someone still comes and visits the site....

hello all! nothing much happening here, just that my family is all going abroad, coming home or just went abroad! exept me..:P And then Heidi is coming today :) with little Ellis, I havent seen him yet, and i cant wait!! Andrés also came from france last monday, I havent seen him for almost a year now... So we'll have a great reunion soon! I'm just working hard trying to finish my Master thesis, it's not going so well, i have so much left to do with so little time:/ well back to work then;)

What is new with me? well i'm going to start my PhD in September! I'm really exited about that, I wil be studying drug delivery to the posterior segment of the eye! (the back of the eye). It is related to what i am doing now, but this is more general and covers all kinds of diseases. Also the research i will do is mostly done in humans, which i think is more exiting also! I will graduate with my masters on my dads b-day the 21 of October:) So we will have one big party togehter;)
I've been blogging a little bit on the biogirls website, thats why i havent been doing it so much here:( those of you who understand icelandic, should check that one out!

Sun and Star

hi! I finally got internet in my new flat!:) Me and Níels also got ourselves 2 little kittens called Sól and Stjarna (sun and star in icelandic) Me and my biology friends also got us a new blog together its: http://blog.central.is/biogirls/index.php check it out! New flat!

hi all!
So much is going on with me theese days, I just bought a flat!! tomorrow i will sign the deal and then me and Níels and Flóki will move in, in about 1 week or on the 6th of February:)
Heidi and Andy finally go their son born on the 9th of January, his name is Ellis Heiðar, and he is very beutiful! I relly have to go to England to see him:)
I'll post more when I move and put some pics, since my computer is without internet until then!

Finally all the assignements are finished!!:) well i have a final on the 20th of Dec but its 3 weeks from now... in 2 days i will go to England to see Heidi and Andy the newlyweds! hi all! sorry i havent been writing anything for about a month now:( Its been so much to do at school, i'm doing an essay and teaching very much, but it will be better in about 2 weeks. I wanted to put in some pictures from Heidi and Andy's wedding that was on the 1st of October, but i cant find the cord to put it the pics in the computer:( I'll put something about everything that has happended in October, with pics in about 2 weeks! now i have to go back to writing my essay:)

hi! last week I started a class in pharmacology, and it seems quite interresting:) now i have to study alot for it, there are some reports and an essay to be made... then next week i will start teaching again... So for now i'll be really busy with that all days!

My good friend Sunna, had her 30th b day yesterday, so to celebrate that we took her out to dinner on Saturday and then she had a party afterwards at a bar called the Boomkicker which plays mostly rock music. I think the evening was quite nice and I think Sunna was happy aswell:)

Culture night

hi all! well finally I'm writing here,well last saturday there was the culture night of reykjavik, andI went to a b day party at my cousins place, and then downtown to see the fireworks, cause we were to late do see anything else :( and then after that it began raining like crazy so everyone fled into some pubs, so u couldn't really see much (at least not me:P) even though others that managed to come earlier before the rain saw all sorts of things, like concerts and other kinds of artist...:) there was even a ghost house there! Well too bad I missed it, but my cousins party was pretty cool, so I guess it was ok this time:P next year, next year right???:D

hey all! i havent been posting cause the cord of my computer is broken, so havent been able to go to the internet much... But i'll get a new one tomorrow! then i can start putting pictures in again hopefully :P anyway nothing much has been happening with my this last week, exept the festival in the first weekend of august, was exellent :D and i'll put some pics from that here soon;) Mostly now i've been just working and helping my friend Heidi with her wedding arrangements! She is coming here with her fianc'e in the end of September to get married in the west of Iceland, its gonna be great!:)

my grandad, Ágúst, had been 100 years old the 1st of August, if he was still alive! To celebrate that, his children, granchildren, great gran children and great great gran children! (they are only 2 though;)) meet and had a garden party at his old house, where 1 of his daugthers still lives. It was really nice to see all thoose people at the same place celebrating his live! I think we were about 30, but some were missing, unfortunately...:( The picture is of my mom and my sister Herdís with the other guests in the background:)

This weekend will be the big "festival" weekend in Iceland. There are festivals all over the country! Now this year i'm thinking of going up north (which actually i've done last 2 years aswell:P) and i'll go to some dances in the capital of the North, Akureyri, and hopefully the weather will be good! Last year i went with my friends aswell, and we had a great time!
where there are 4 of us is since last year, we were only 3 this time...:)

I went to the Tivoli with my nieces this morning, it was quite fun and scary, my 11 year old niece draged me into a crazy machine called freak out it was really scary :$ the other machines were not as bad though :P hehe but i was shaky for awhile after freaking out!!

my dad just got a porche, its worth 6.000.000 ISK! its really powerful and nice, wouldnt mind one of those :P but unfortunately he is gonna sell it. Well maybe that is a good idea since you can get a nice car for lot less that u actually can drive without being afraid that it might get scratched :P hehe
